Comments: I first came to see Dr. O'Connor based on his phenomenal reviews due to having severe bulging discs at C-5 and at L-4 & L-5. The pain, burning and numbness was all too much to bear. I was in tears in my first appointment. The entire staff at Dr. O'Connor's office were amazing and so incredibly compassionate! I have a nursing background so I tend to be a bit critical of doctors and their staff and I know that in general neurosurgeons don't have much personality or compassion. Dr. O'Connor was the opposite! He was so caring. So kind. At my second appointment he looked over my scans and explained, thoroughly that I needed an ACDF procedure on C-5 ASAP, but (and this is SO IMPORTANT) it was my choice if I wanted to go ahead and do it and I was more than welcome to get another opinion. I know surgeons and in general, they don't want to give you options. They just want to cut. I did get other opinions, of course, but I quickly returned to Dr. O'Connor and scheduled my ACDF procedure.
I am now about 6 weeks out from my surgery and I cannot be more grateful for Dr. O'Connor and his phenomenal staff! My recovery was not very difficult as they fully prepare you for everything. I happen to scar easily but believe it or not I can barely see my incision. I will definitely have Dr. O'Connor do my second procedure when I am ready and I tell everyone I know in the area who is in need of spinal care to go see Dr. O'Connor because I truly believe that he is simply the best neurosurgeon in all of Palm Beach County! We are blessed to have him here! Thank you so much to everyone at Marcus Neurology who has been part of my care. I get more and more feeling back in my left arm everyday! That's amazing!
